Speaker 2 00:00:07 Hey, welcome to the gray SOPs podcast. Brian Phillips with you here today for this devotional edition devotion title today is does grace, excuse us. We'd like for you to use these devotionals as a tool in your life and for discussion with your band and brothers, the scripture for today's devotion is Titus two, 11 and 12 for the grace of God has appeared bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled upright and godly lives. In this present age, the topic of grace annoyed me for a couple of decades until I saw this verse and understood that grace is not an excuse to stay weak. I've seen that version way too many times. And in my opinion, it is sending people straight to hell. If you think gray, silver looks in and somehow excuses, pathetic living, then I want to let you know that you're, that you've missed understood grace. Speaker 2 00:01:04 And it probably misunderstood what a relationship with Christ means. Grace is a trainer that empowers us to apply the work of the cross to our lives. Grace is training us to renounce the flesh. That means we abandoned the actions and attitudes that used to rule over us. Grace is training us to conquer live upright and live in holiness has God desires. We all struggle with sin when we do grace. Grace does not tell us it's okay. Don't worry about it. God loves you while that statement is true. It's not the job of grace to make us feel good with warm fuzzy emotions. Grace says to us, rise and conquer walking your healing and the power of salvation. Grace says denounce and declare, who was really in charge of your heart's affections. The Christian life is not about perfection. It is about pursuit. Grace brings the power salvation into our lives, providing us with a new and powerful operating system. Speaker 2 00:02:08 You are now fully equipped to conquer darkness and to live upright. Any other view of grace that potentially corrupts our growth and maturity in Christ is not biblical grace. Your band of brothers are designed to provide the momentum and strength to keep you moving forward. We all have ups and downs, but together we can grow and inspire one another to walk in the fullness of our potential in Christ action steps for this devotion. What worldly passions and ungodliness do you need to renounce today? And the last action step declare the power of the cross over yourself today. Hope you enjoyed this devotion by Brian Phillips until next time live upright.
