Speaker 1 00:00:06 Hey, welcome to the Grace House podcast. Brian Phillips with you here today for this devotional edition, our team is excited. We got together and wrote some really awesome devotionals based on the five star charge so that you can mature in your walk with Christ and use these devotionals to engage discussion and development with your band of brothers. So today's devotional is, is week four. Grace isn't narcissistic comes from Titus two, 13 and 14, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself, a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works, the devotional reading. So we live in a self-induced world of narcissism. We have social media profiles solely based on our own interest. And we only display the best of ourselves. Speaker 1 00:01:03 We think primarily in terms of me, myself and I, we often think that God is all about me, my gifts and my development. We like to think he is making us into our best selves, but Christianity is not a self-help movement. It is a self death way of living. Grace is interested in helping us learn to live within a family, not live a narcissistic lifestyle on our own. As individuals, we have high value and very unique gifts that that were placed in us while we were in our mother's womb. But we must realize that God is building a covenant people in the earth. And unless we know the purpose of that, people will never find ourselves in the center of his will. And kingdom. Grace is building a redemptive people. I firmly believe you cannot and should not walk alone. You must establish a band of brothers, which is what Christ modeled with the 12 in the Bible. Speaker 1 00:02:04 We see God building the idea of community. God is more about the we than he is the individual. We need three to four guys who walk this journey together with us for far too long. The enemy has destroyed men with the idea that we shouldn't. We should be an island unto ourselves. Being trained by grace to live upright will require connecting with a band of brothers whose goal is to challenge and empower each other to live a Christ centered life. So action steps off today's devotional and good discussion. Step, uh, questions for your band of brothers who are the band of brothers you're doing life with and what w what are you doing to challenge and empower your band of brothers, go out and engage this world. Don't be focused on the narcissistic temptations of today. Look to others, look to serve others. God bless you. And until next time live upright,
